After Porto and Vila Real, CINANIMA will be presented to students of Aveiro and Coimbra

This year CINANIMA – International Animated Film Festival celebrates 40 years and proudly presents partnerships with the Universities of Aveiro and Coimbra launching four sessions expecting the success of predecessors, Porto and Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.

FESTIVAL goes to Coimbra this Wednesday with the Awarded Films of 2015 – a selection of some of the winning short films of last year’s edition; on the 12th it’s time to display the Cartoon D’Or – a screening that includes the finalists for Best European Short Film. Finally, the entire university community may watch two separate screenings: Films from “The Animation Workshop” School – Denmark – that represents the best works by young Danish students of this school. This bold program will take place in November 19th. Lastly, in order to raise the expectations of those who watch animated films, CINANIMA proudly presents a selection of films from 3D Wire – Animation Festival – on the 26th -, reflecting the latest and best production of Spanish animation. Sessions will be screened at Mini-Auditório Salgado Zenha.

Also in debut, the University of Aveiro receives at Novo Auditório do Departamento de Comunicação e Arte, the Awarded Films of 2015 on October 12th, the Cartoon D’Or on 19th, “The Animation Workshop” on 26th and 3D Wire on November 2nd. The sessions at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, in the second year of this partnership, will be screened on 6th (Awarded Films of 2015), 13th (Cartoon D’Or), 20th (“The Animation Workshop”) and 27th October (3D Wire) in place to designate.

In the third year in combining their efforts in promoting and disseminating the animated film, the Festival and the University of Porto promise sessions on October 7th (Awarded Films of 2015), 14th (Cartoon D’Or), 21st (“The Animation Workshop”) and 28th (3D Wire) at Auditório da Reitoria da Universidade, at 9:30 p.m.

You don’t want to miss this extraordinary animated screenings, admission free, that precedes the celebration of the 40 years of the oldest animated festival in Portugal and the third oldest in the world. CINANIMA 2016 will be held from the 7th to the 13th of November, in Espinho.
