Peter Lord blows 40 candles Aardman Animations in CINANIMA

One of the highlights of the 40th edition of CINANIMA – International Animated Film Festival Festival goes to the presence in Espinho, of the the British director Peter Lord. Known for his work on television series as “Sheep Shaun” or “Creature Comforts”, Lord has been honored with three Academy ® nominations with “Adam” (1992), “Wat’s Pig” (1996) and its individual first feature film, “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” (2013).

Beside integrating the jury team of international short films competition, Peter Lord comes to CINANIMA to blow Aardman Animations’ forty birthday candles, the studio he co-founded with David Sproxton and that brought to the world of film animation plasticine and stop motion creations, from which stand out hits like “Chicken Run” or more recently “Sheep Shaun – The Movie”.

Thus, in the 40 years of CINANIMA we also celebrate these important 40 years of production with five sessions dedicated to Aardman Animations. In addition to “Chicken Run” and “Sheep Shaun,” public will have the opportunity to watch a retrospective of these four animated film decades, to which joins two special screenings for children.

The cycle dedicated to Aardamn, one of the most prominent industry agents of world animation, rivaling the giants of Hollywood and demonstrating that it is possible to combine the author animated film with commercial productions for big audiences, will take place on the 12th and 13th of November.
